Whether it is the rise of fascism on our streets or the genocide in gaza, we find ourselves in ever-more politically depressing times. the dancefloor is somewhere we can come together and create a utopian space.
This was the philosophy of David Mancuso, who put on the party which became known as 'The Loft' in New York, starting in 1970. Taking this idea as its starting point, Brighter Days seeks to shed some rays of sunlight in these dark times.
brighter days puts the emphasis on inclusion and community-building.the party seeks to create a relaxed, open atmosphere where everyone can be themselves and feel completely comfortable. love is always the message!
brighter days is proud to have been designated a safe space for trans people by @safespaceshighpeak and stands in solidarity with the trans community, immigrants and all other marginalised people. we ask that all dancers remain respectful and considerate of others.
